Grimsby Futsal League
My name is Kevin Bryant, I have organised football leagues and tournaments for the past 10 years. During that time the only system I have used has been The Sports Organiser. The few minor glitches the system has given me have been rectified by the developer, The Sports Organiser designer immediately. I have never been without the contents of the system published online for more than a few hours. The Sports Organiser has been that good.
I have used The Sports Organiser for three types of tournament:
Leagues:
The Sports Organiser system lets me input the name of six or sixty teams, one click tells The Sports Organiser to create fixtures and immediately they are compiled. Brilliant could not be easier. It works every time. Additional detail can be added e.g. How many times should teams play each other, how many points for a win, how should teams be segregated if they are level on points (goals scored, highest scorers, goal difference?) etc. Everything has been thought through, that is until someone needs a detail not presently in use, what then? From my experience the developer will write it into The Sports Organiser programme, providing it is rational and will benefit more than one person. This is how the system has so brilliantly evolved, different users have all had slightly different uses for The Sports Organiser; as a result it has evolved to meet all our individual needs. For example I had no need to keep detailed disciplinary records for yellow and red cards used in soccer; now I find that part of The Sports Organiser most useful.
Financial records are most important for any league, one click and I can find how many games a team has played and if they up to date with payments. I have everything under control in one system.
Cup Tournaments:
World Cup or knockout format it is possible to organise a tournament. For a ‘knock out’ the teams can be entered and with one click and a random cup draw will be displayed.
Other formats such as World Cup can be set up; once teams are added to the groups they will progress to quarter, semi and final without additional planning.
Major outdoor tournaments:
The Sports Organiser makes organising theses events easy. I can do all my planning at home, take my laptop to the tournament and everything is ready to go. If it’s a large tournament I display results direct from the laptop to a display screen so teams can view the latest results and tables. If it’s a small tournament results are printed. The drawback of so many systems is that you need to be online to access and update fixtures, impossible if the web server is experiencing technical problems and has to close down for repairs. Impossible if you are at an outdoor tournament a distance from an electrical supply.
Other Main Points:
I can leave a message for teams by selecting the ADMIN TAB, additionally I can write a game report using the NOTE TAB. Two Small features that become big features when teams access their fixtures and team history off the web.
Because I own The Sports Organiser the data is mine, important for keeping past history. Use an online supplier, if they close down you could be in big trouble.
Summary:
The system is brilliant it meets all my needs and has done for a remarkable 10 years, this equates to hundreds of leagues, 1000’s of games, if the programme had a weakness, I would have found it by now.
