Brøndby IF and The Sports Organiser.
Brøndby IF is one of the biggest football clubs in Denmark.
With more than 1,500 active members in the age from 4 years to 80+
Our members are girls, boys, men and women and both amateurs and professionals.
It has been a tradition in Brøndby to host Cup tournaments ranging from the small 3 a-side one-day tournaments to the big Brøndby Cup which is an Annual International Youth Tournament lasting a week beginning in August. During the years the tournament administration has evolved from being paper based to being based on a different computer solution all created by the individual who had to do the job in the specific tournament. The reason for the individual solutions was that "no standard solution fitted our needs". Could this really be true ? We decided to look for some kind of standardized software which fitted our needs.
At www.tucows.com we found a software named The League System. It looked like the software we were looking for, so we tried to download a trial version to have a first look. I did not take long to decide to buy the software. The software fitted our needs across our tournaments at that time.
But like any other piece of software new wishes arose. When we made our own software this was no problem we just made the changes. But what to do now? We had bought at piece of software which we could not change ourselves? We contacted with 'the developer' and ask for new functionality. To our surprise, there was someone answering our questions and even better our wishes came through.
The League System changed its name to The Sports Organiser and is still part of tournament planning in Brøndby. We still send our wishes for new features to the system and they are all being implemented in new releases. And we are not talking about within the next year, many times it's within a week or less, we receive the first beta.
Another thing is the new features you need in the future, what about the daily support? Several times we have found that we needed a new feature while being in the middle of a tournament and every time the developer has responded within hours and sent a new updated version of the software with the new feature included.
Today we also use the Joomla addons for The Sports Organiser at www.brondbycup.dk for fixtures and results.
